Terms

These Terms govern your use of the Gavel website, interfaces, and smart contracts (“Gavel”, “the Platform”). By accessing or using Gavel, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

  1. Open-Source Software (if applicable) Parts of Gavel may be released as open-source software and provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Anyone may review, fork, or reuse the code under the applicable license(s).

  2. Non-Custodial Use Gavel is non-custodial. You—and only you—control your wallet, private keys, and transaction approvals. Losing access to your wallet means permanently losing access to your assets. Gavel contributors cannot recover keys, reverse transactions, or modify onchain outcomes.

  3. Onchain Auctions & Price Risk (CCA) Gavel supports token launches using Continuous Clearing Auctions (CCA). Auction outcomes (including clearing prices, allocations, and settlement) are determined by smart contract logic and market participation. Token prices can be volatile and may fall below your average fill price after launch. You are solely responsible for evaluating the risks of participating in any token launch.

  4. No Financial or Legal Advice Nothing on Gavel constitutes investment, financial, tax, or legal advice. You are solely responsible for all decisions involving tokens, auctions, and related risks.

  5. Third-Party Protocols & Dependencies Gavel may interface with blockchains, smart contracts, decentralized exchanges (including Uniswap v4), bridges, and third-party services. Your use of these systems is at your own risk. Gavel has no control over external protocols, their availability, or their security.

  6. Gasless Funding / x402 (if enabled) Gavel may support gasless funding flows via the x402 standard and/or third-party payment rails. These features may depend on external services and can fail, degrade, or become unavailable. Gasless funding changes the deposit experience, not the underlying auction risks or onchain settlement rules.

  7. Curated Launches & Disclosures Gavel may offer “curated” launches that include features like allowlists, per-wallet caps, or private bidding. Curation does not guarantee project quality, safety, compliance, profitability, or the absence of fraud. You remain responsible for independent due diligence on any launch.

  8. User Responsibilities You agree to:

  • Use Gavel in compliance with applicable laws

  • Secure your devices, wallets, and recovery materials

  • Review auction parameters (sale size, duration, floor price, raise asset, unsold token policy, and any restrictions)

  • Bear full responsibility for transactions you approve through your wallet

  1. Updates & Changes Gavel may update features, UI, or smart-contract integrations over time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

  2. Limitation of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gavel contributors are not liable for:

  • Loss of funds or tokens

  • Hacks, phishing, malware, or unauthorized access

  • Smart contract bugs, exploits, or incompatibilities

  • Network outages, reorgs, forks, congestion, or protocol failures

  • Third-party failures (including DEXs, bridges, payment rails, or x402 providers)

  • Project team actions, misrepresentations, or token design risks
